Now I lay me down to sleep!!

Tonight I went up to hear Addison's prayers that are so awesome. But tonight was so cute I couldn't wait to share. She went through the usual , Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, The angels watch me through the night and wake me in the morning light. God Bless,(and this is where it gets interesting, some nights its just a quick everyone, but some nights it goes on and on..........like my dolls , my family, my brother, etc. Tonight she said my family and God bless Granddad that he makes alot of money real quick and can come home!!!) So cute but made me sad. She sure loves her granddad!! And we miss him.

Go Wildcats

We went to the game tonight. Had a great time!! Even though we got a beating from Artesia as usual.

They were so excited. When they went to the field they set off a cannon and the crowd went crazy. Dom hated this and his Aunt Shasta hd to come get him. Look at that blue field. A hugh Thanks to Brian Urlacher for remembering his home-town and doing so much for our schools!!

It's Only The Second grade!!!!

In the last post I talked about our mornings but our nights are unreal!!
This is an example. Dom gets home at 11:00. Addison gets home at 4:00. Shanna gets off at 5:00. I usually start cooking around 5:00. Addison gets free time for about 1 hour, then time for homework. She doesn't want to but we get started about 6:00. Shanna Addison and Dom start homework while I finish cooking. Dom practices writing his name while Addison starts her 4 pages of math. She is doing minus and plus (2 colums) time, and counting money. Then break to eat. Then time to start spelling and reading. While Addison is reading to me Shanna gives Dom his bath. She has different things to do each night. We start with the spelling words, then reading the stories, then a 1 minute time test. How many words can you read in 1 min?? She is amazing at this, to pass to third grade you have to read 90 words per min. She is reading at least 200 or more, Nana has to brag. Then 15 min of reading. Tonight was writing 5 silly sentences using your spelling words. We are looking at 1:30 mins at least of homework and this is just the second grade!!!! Then, she has to have a bath and be in bed by 8:00 for down time and lights out at 8:30. This is every night. I give a hugh thumbs up to all the mothers who have more than 2 and who have no help. I don't know how they do it?? And I feel so sorry for all the little ones out there that don't have anyone to help them. Wow, what is 3rd grade going to be like.

"I don't want to."

How many times do we hear that???
Shanna and the kids are living with me right now because during the Big Move, we moved her trailor over to the new place and we still have no water, elect, or sewer.
Wednesdays seem to be a hard day for Dominic. This is how our morning went. The alarm went off at 6:25. I yell at Shanna and she starts getting ready for work. So, I start with Addison, she gripes but is used to it after 3 years. She goes downstairs to potty and brush her teeth and I try to grab a cup of coffee. Then start on Dominic. I say Time to get up, and the response I don't want to. I want to stay with momma today. No, Dom , Momma has to work. Well, I want to stay with you Nana. No, Dom once you start school you have to go. I don't want to!! Dom, hurry you will miss the bus. No, I don't want to ride the bus!! About that time mom shows up and says OK Dom just get up and I will take you. So much for the excitement from the day before about such a big boy, riding the bus. He says he will ride the bus tomorrow, I'll let you know.

Dominic's first day on the bus

Today was Dominics first day to ride the bus. We woke him up at 6:30 and the first thing he asked was "Do I get to ride the bus?" We got him and Addison ready for school and he was so excited the whole time. They looked so cute when they left with their back-packs and big smiles. Addison took is hand and played the part of the big sister and introduced him to the bus driver and all the kids already on the bus. Shanna gave him time to get there and called the school to make sure he got off at the right school. About 10:30 nervous Nana called Shanna and asked her to go up to the school and from a distance watch to make sure he got on the bus. He would be riding a different bus home so I was worried. Shanna got up to the school and called me. She said, I feel like a stalker, but she watched. Sure enough he got on the right bus so we hung up and I told her I would call as soon as he got home. I knew it would take at least 30 minutes for him to get here but after pacing around for 10 minutes I decieded to head down the road(we have to pick the kids up at the end of our road) I sure didn't want to be late so I grabbed my book and my coke and went to wait. I was so nervous I couldn't even read. In about 20 more minutes, to my relief here came the bus. He loved it. He was so proud of himself. That is a big accomplishment for a 4 year old and an old Nana!!!!

Still more camera problems!!

After seeing my bad pictures, I was talking to Wayne and he said we have the other camera there. We bought this one a few years back. It was a great camera back then!! OK, so I found it but no manual and none of the stuff necessary to download. I searched his office and the closets and could find nothing. So he found the manual on-line and e-mailed it to me and I saw the accesory I needed to download to my lap top wrote the number down and headed to staples. The clerk looked up the part number and found nothing so I went to radio shack. I took the camera in and he said how old is this? He looked it up and couldn't find it. So I headed to Wal-Mart. They had a really nice accesory called a universal. I looked on the back and it listed Olympus D series so I thought I had solved the problem. I opened it very carefully just in case and tried and none of them would work. So, I put everything back stapled it up and got it ready to take back. Then I did what I should have done in the first place, I called Olympus. They said that camera is obsolete and we don't even carry parts for it anymore. I knew Janice was about to leave for Hobbs so I took her the taped up kit and told her I had a 40.00 credit so to grab me a digital camera for that amount( big upgrade from the 10.00 one) She found one and when Shanna picked Dom up she brought me the camera. I was so excited I could start doing pictures again. ( I am really loving this) It was in one of those blister packages that are impossible to open, and in my haste to open, the cd for the download program and manual broke. Also, I was reading the back after all this and it said must have a memory card with at least 8 GB before you can use this camera. Just my luck!! So I called Vivitar and told them about the broken cd and they will mail me a new one but it will take 1-2 weeks. I am still looking for stuff for the other camera. Maybe one day I will be taking pictures again.

Thought I bought a bargain!!

I went to Wal-mart today to get a camera because of the special event coming up. I saw one of the disposable ones and asked the clerk if I could get a disk off of it. He said no, so I continued looking. I saw a sign that said digital camera for 10.00 and read about it and was very impressed. I brought it home and bragged to everyone what a great deal I found. We have a super camera but Wayne took it with him so I just needed something until he gets back. So I apologize for the pics with my blogs but they are priceless even if bad. You get what you pay for.

Father-Daughter Dance

Tonight was a very special night for my granddaughter, Addison. It is a big event in Lovington called the father daughter dance. Addisons first time to be able to go was last year. Her dad, TJ is in the military and would not be able to be here and her granddad was on a job so he was not here. So ashe asked Jason, her little brothers dad to talk her and he felt highly honored. He bought her the wrist flowers and went all out to make it a very special night for her and it was. They had pictures made and she won a door prize, an i-pod. And they were looking forward to doing it again this year. On may 11th, we were at a t-ball game for Dominic and Jason was there and he asked Addison, when are we going dancing again and she said, our father daughter dance is coming up and they made a date. We all left the game, Jason left on his, motorcycle, a crotch rock and little did we know that would be the last time we saw him. 15 min later he had a wreck and early the next morning was gone.

Addison came home Monday of this week and wanted to call her dad who lives in Virginia . It was time for the father-daughter dance. He couldn't make it by Friday night and her granddad is on a job, again in Pennsylvania. She was heart broken. Shanna and I tried our best to think of someone who could take her. I was talking to my brother who lives in Portales 83 miles away and told him about it. I knew he was on call for this week-end but I wish he was here. About 30 min later my phone rang and it was Gary and He said does my niece still need a date for Friday night?? I said let me hand her the phone, she started jumping up and down and screamed I get to go to the dance. She was so very Happy!!

Well, this is the big night and they just got home. They had a wonderful time!! Danced every dance. Gary is worn out but said that is the very best date he has ever had. Addison asked him if he would take her every year and when she is in high school she will be taller than him. They won a door prize and gave it to me, bath salt, cloth, and scrubber. Addison tasted the bath salt and said Yuck. What a night for both of them. Creating memories!!! A hugh thanks to my tired brother for making this such a special night.

Yikes, Where did my hair go!!!

My 4 year old grandson, Dominic has always had a problem with haircuts. He hates to get his hair cut. When he was little I took him the first 2 times and he threw such a fit. I talked to his Opa and Oma ( his other grandparents) about it and from that time on, his Opa took him to Tony, who cuts Opa's hair. At first it was a real challenge with the crying but Tony took his time with him and even gave him a little toy when he knew Dominic was coming. They became friends and it got better. Well, Dominic started pre-k this week and really needed a hair-cut. Oma kept trying to call Tony and he was out of town so his Aunt Shasta decieded to call Toby a friend of hers that cuts hair. So last night Shasta was coming to get him and Oma and Nana thought it would be better to tell him he was going to get a hair-cut. He cried and when Shasta came he was throwing a fit but she took him antway. She told herto cut it short but we never expected the buzz. When Shasta brought him home he was already asleep so I really couldn't see much but she told me don't worry, it will grow back. He does look very cute but , it has taken me all day to get used to it.

Breakfast for supper!!

Tonight was breakfast for supper night at our house. Addison and Dominic love to have breakfast or supper. They always eat the very best on this night. It is so special to Addison that she has it marked on the calendar for the whole year!! We had bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and toast. And they did eat very good. I love to have these special things that make them so happy!!

Meet The Osborns

I guess the best way to start is to tell you about The Osborns. I am married to a wonderful man, Wayne. We will have 34 years in September. Into this marriage we have had 3 daughters. The 1st was Stacee who blogs as a Pickle Pina. She is already 31 and about to start a very exciting time in her life. She is getting married in October to a great guy, Larry. Larry brings all of us a very special prize. Another grandson, Jace. The only downfall is , they live in Pheonix and we don't get to see them enough. The second daughter is Shalee. She is 30, WOW how time flies. She lives too far away too, in Denver. The 3rd daughter is Shanna, 27, who lives in Lovington. Shanna has given us 2 very special gifts. Addison who is 7 and Dominic who is 4. You will learn alot more about all of the above as I develope this blog. Because most of them will involve the above players in my life.
The reason I named it the big move is we were planning a big move but it is not going to happen as soon as we thought. We thought our house was sold and we started a new place. The for sure deal fell through so we a waiting for another buyer. I will tell that story in the next blog.

That's not happening right now.

When I decieded to start this blog it was all about an exciting time in our lives. After building, and living in our home for 26 years, we were ready for a new beginning. Since then, all has changed and I think this is a great way to share with m family and friends about my everyday life. My daughter , Stacee is a Pickle Pina and I love to open my computer and see what has happened in her day. I can't say mine will be near as exciting, but it is just a way to let everyone know what's up. I HATE to type so this is a great effort to me. I love to talk on the phone but for some reason I have never liked to type.
